Signing in

Know. offers three ways to sign in: Apple, Google, and an email link. Each one creates its own account, so use the same method every time. The sign in screen marks the one you used last.

If you signed in with a different method by mistake and your circles are missing, email us. We can move your circles onto the account you want to keep.

Circles and joining

A circle is a small group of people you share moments with. Whoever creates a circle sends an invite link. Opening that link on a phone with Know. installed joins you to the circle.

Children are added by a parent or guardian. Only a guardian can remove a child from a circle.

Reminders

Know. reminds you about a birthday a week before it happens, and again on the morning. You can change the lead time for each person on their page, and turn reminders off entirely in Settings.

Reminders are local to your phone, so they need notification permission. If you said no when first asked, you can turn them back on in the iPhone Settings app under Know.

Gift ideas

Ideas come from a catalogue of products, matched against what a person has told you they like, their sizes, and anything they have said to avoid. You get three rounds of ideas per person per day. The counter above the button shows how many you have left.

If a round says nothing was found on topic, the catalogue had nothing that matched closely enough. Know. would rather show you nothing than show you something wrong. Adding more detail to the person's interests usually helps.

Know. earns a commission if you buy through one of these links. It never changes the price you pay, and it never changes which ideas you are shown.

Your details, and who sees them

You choose what each circle can see. Sizes, interests and wish lists are shared with the circles you pick. Allergies and anything on an avoid list are shared so people do not buy something harmful.

Know. shows no adverts, sells nothing about you, and uses no third party analytics.

Deleting your account

Open Settings inside the app, scroll to the bottom, and choose Delete account. Know. asks twice, then removes your account, your people, your lists, and everything you have added. It cannot be undone and we cannot restore it afterwards.

If the app will not open and you need your account removed, email us from the address you signed up with.

Something is broken

Email mersudin@mersudinforbes.com with your iPhone model, the iOS version, and what you saw. If the app closed unexpectedly, say roughly when, and we can match it to the crash report.
